Welcome to Missouri Valley Energy, LLC

ground breakingMissouri Valley Energy, LLC, a subsidiary of Glacial Lakes Corn Processors, has secured a 360 acre site approximately eight miles northwest of Vermillion, South Dakota along SD Hwy 50 for a potential ethanol facility.

MVE was founded by seven ag producers and six area businessmen from Southeast South Dakota. Their first meeting was held in January of 2006 in which they formed a SD LLC named Missouri Valley Energy. Their mission statement was to provide an economic return for all shareholders by adding value and being a low cost renewable energy production facility. For the next several months the founders worked on locating the best site for an ethanol plant, began a corn feasibility study and did research on possible builders for the project. After further research the group decided it would be best to work with an existing ethanol plant and had met with several different companies. Glacial Lakes Energy best described their mission statement and the two companies merged.

MVE is owned and operated by Glacial Lakes Energy, LLC through it’s parent company Glacial Lakes Corn Processors. GLE is a 50+ million gallon per year ethanol production facility located in Watertown, SD.
